September is officially over and my income report was a good bounce back from the low of July. This year has been an incredibly challenging year with everything that’s happened to my business, but it looks like I’ve hit a point of stability again, which is very exciting.
Further, I’m starting to see further growth on One Hour Professor on both YouTube and the blog, which is my main goal since the beginning of this year. I’ll get into more details in the report, but generally speaking, September was a positive month.
This month my total income after expenses was $14,514.31 which comes out to $483.81 per day.

Personal Life Update
On a personal level, I don’t have much to say about this month. My wife was gone for 3 full weeks which, admittedly, sucked. For a day I was excited to do things my way and spend all my time the way I wanted, but since then I’ve practically fallen apart.
You see, as an entrepreneur, you go through a LOT of positive and negative days and it’s vitally important to have a support system nearby. For the last month I haven’t and this has led to me taking random naps throughout the day and throwing off my sleep schedule.
I’m happy one day, then bummed the next. Most of this is due to how hard I’m having to work to grow my personal brand and while my wife is USUALLY around to comfort me, she hasn’t been lately but by the time you see this, she’ll be back here and things will be back to normal.
Aside from that, we’re also in the process of finishing our basement. We’re doing this weird decoration style where we’re doing a PARTIALLY finished basement and although it sounds weird, it’s turning out to be pretty nice and costing us ¼ of what it would have cost originally. I’ll do my best to include some images before and after when we’re done.

I’m doing this for a number of reasons:
1) I strive to be transparent about what it takes to make money online.
2) These reports help me keep track of my own progress.
3) These reports hold me accountable.

Project Updates
Website 1 Update
- Traffic decreased 8% and earnings dropped 4%. Not ideal, but not a significant drop so I’m not too concerned at this point.
- EPM Increased by about 5%, so I’m making more per pageview. A positive trend and a reflection of what Ezoic was able to provide.
- PLAN: As of now, I intend on creating some new content but mostly focus on revising old content. Since Q3 just ended, I need to pull content reports to determine what content has lost traffic and fix it to try to reclaim some traffic.

- I’ve stopped selling courses on my site. This isn’t permanent, it’s a change to reflect what my future strategy will be. I’ll start new courses soon.
- Second best earnings month since I’ve started keeping track this year.
- Most pageviews accumulated in a given month.
- Large jump in referring domains supported by guest posting.
- EPM jumped to $44 and I’ve seen a nice new increase in affiliate income from the blog.
- PLAN: Continue guest posting and growing the brand. This site is running me ragged, but I know all the hard work will be worth it in the end.

Website 3 Update
- Website has no new content published and no revisions underway.
- Income was reasonably high for the month. Less than last year, but still a respectable number for doing nothing for months.
- PLAN: Continue to let the website sit and collect money. I have also transitioned it over to Ezoic to see how much it earns compared to Adsense. At the beginning stages and will see a drop in October earnings, but long term I’m confident Ezoic will make more. I’ll report back.

- Website earned less than last month, but had a higher EPM. The problem here was a traffic drop that kind of came out of nowhere. Will monitor to see why this is happening, but for now, just letting the website sit.

Lessons Learned
Every month, I’m going to reflect back and tell you a few different lessons that I’ve learned. My hope is that the lessons each month will be a cautionary tale for you that makes it so that you don’t make the dumb mistakes that I do along the way.
- Guest posting works for more traffic.
- YouTube is still a big mystery for me.
- Link building propels growth but may not be a total requirement.

Revise content that is on the fringe of ranking well: I’d like to revise 4 articles that are already on the front page, but not working in the top 3 positions. I think these revisions could help.
