Some big changes to my business are coming soon and March was the start of these adjustments. The month was good from an earnings perspective as I’ve cut back on expenses. In addition, I’ve also decided to have a much more focused approach moving forward as I’m just not sure how AI will impact the future of publishing.
The biggest positive this month: While I can’t disclose the deals yet, I was able to sell two of my sites. While the deals aren’t finalized, it looks like six figures in earnings will be positive for the business. While this will reduce my monthly income, it’s a way to capitalize on sites I’ve built (and neglected) over time. Again, I can’t disclose the figures yet because I don’t have the funds, so this report does NOT include anything related to these sites.
The biggest negative this month: While I’m happy both of these sites are selling, they went for less than I was hoping. I think the reason for this is because of the current economic climate paired with the worries of AI.
Here are the numbers behind my business for the month:
- Revenue: $20,144 (This includes revenue from all sources)
- Expenses : $14,863 (This includes healthcare costs and my monthly paycheck of $6,876 as an expense)
- Net Income: $3,651

Personal Life Update
Not much to report from a personal perspective in March. My dad and cousin were able to visit us, which was great, but unfortunately, we contracted Covid….again. This is our family’s 4th time being exposed to it in a year. It’s incredibly annoying, but it’s the world we live in.
On a side note, I learned a bit about counting cards and am proud to say I was able to make my usual $300 bankroll turn into $900 in one sitting. Not only that, but I had a pit boss looking over my shoulder because of my very erratic betting style (inspired by my card counting), which was a moment of pride for me.
I want to get kicked out of a casino for counting cards. I’m new to it and don’t gamble unless people visit us in Vegas, but it sure is fun when it works!

Project Updates
Udemy Update
I don’t focus on Udemy any longer, but I have made money from them every month since I stopped.
OHP Website
OneHourProfessor was largely ignored in March. I cut all expenses and did very little work there for the month. The weirdest (and ironic) thing this month is that even though I did almost nothing, traffic increased by about 40% month-over-month! This was due to the most recent Google core update and while it was great to see that happen, it just goes to show how aimless the algorithm can be sometimes.
For those wondering, no, I didn’t do anything special to the site. I just diverted attention and it grew a ton due to an algo update.
Do I think this is a sustainable strategy? No, I wouldn’t recommend it.
But I think it was a cool change of algo that went my way.
PLAN: For April, I’m going to do a few things here and there on the site, but not focus very much on it. I plan to take a break of sorts until May 1st and go from there.

A slight increase in traffic this month on this site (9%) but weirdly a decline in earnings by 60%. I don’t know what to say about that, it’s definitely a bit weird but it’s only $55 in total earnings so it’s not worth focusing on.
PLAN: For now, we’re going to let this site sit and see what happens organically with Google.
Website 7
This site is currently under contract. Out of respect for the new buyer, I will not disclose any additional information here. Once the deal closes, I will disclose the final sales price.
Website 8
This site did decent in March and had a slight increase in traffic and earnings. I’ve done nothing but let it sit and have no plans to adjust my approach.

I’ve let this site sit for now and age. We changed the content strategy heavily about 4 months ago and I’m now starting to see a small amount of traffic going to higher monetizable pages.
PLAN: Let the site sit and see how search engines react. As of now this will sit, but if I jump back into sites this will be a big focus for me (aside from the OHP site).
Website 11
I pulled funding here as well to have a singular focus with my sites and pair down my portfolio. If I decide to go down the AI-writing path, this is an excellent site to give it a go. This site is purely informational, and I think AI would be well-suited here.
Website 12
This site is VERY similar to website 11 and had its funding pulled. Like site 11, it’s also an excellent candidate for AI content creation. If I decide to go down that route, I’ll be doing it here as well to test how well it works.
OneHourProfessor YouTube Channel
The OneHourProfessor YouTube channel continues to plug along, and will sit for the near-term.
PLAN: Things still on hold here. I’m still not entirely sure on plans, though I do know I’d like to get back on to YouTube at some point.
