When I first started blogging and building websites, I did everything. I wrote all of the articles, designed all the landing pages, did all of the outreach, created my email marketing lists, performed all the SEO tasks without any assistance, and on and on.

This worked for a while, but I couldn’t keep doing all the work by myself as I scaled my online businesses. So I had to outsource some of the writing, outreach, and SEO tasks to make sure I kept making money.

One of the first freelance marketplaces I used to outsource was Fiverr. It’s the fifth-largest online marketplace globally based on compound annual growth between 2019 and 2021.

On Fiverr, I’ve outsourced a ton of work, and my business has grown because of it.

However, while Fiverr has many great features and a huge marketplace of freelancers looking for work, it isn’t the best place to find all of the tasks you’re looking to outsource. If you want to know how to outsource on Fiverr effectively, check out my guide below. Your business will thank you.

What Gigs Should You Outsource on Fiverr?

what gigs should you outsource on Fiverr

I’ll start off this guide on how to outsource on Fiverr by talking about the gigs you should outsource.

Many contractors on Fiverr use the platform to make money off of various side hustles. Some also use the platform extensively as a source of steady work.

While most entrepreneurs and small businesses enjoy doing certain business tasks themselves and often have trouble delegating to others, this can cost a lot of time and money in the long run.

It is better to bite the bullet and outsource some of the smaller business tasks on Fiverr so that you can focus on the more important things. This is especially true for startups that have a lot to get done but not a lot of time or money to do it.

But, not every gig is suitable for outsourcing on Fiverr. Listed below are 15 gigs you should consider outsourcing on the freelancing platform.

1. Website Creation

website creation

Creating a great website these days is easy with the right tools. But, it’s still something you can save time on by outsourcing to someone on Fiverr and probably focusing on other tasks to help you generate leads for your website.

Thanks to the Website Creation Customization Search feature and other free tools, the platform makes getting a stunning website built even easier.

With it, you can get a website built or sales pages perfected in just a few short steps instead of spending time and effort sifting through dozens of options.

All you need to do is to go to the platform’s Guided Website Design Service page, where you will find a list of five steps to complete to get the perfect freelancer to complete your project.

How to use Fiverr’s dedicated website creation page:

On the page, click on the button labeled “What kind of website do you want?”

Choose the type of website you want to build from the options shown in the image below:

After you’ve made your choice, click “Next” and follow the prompts to choose the following:

  • Your industry
  • Preferred store design (you will be shown examples)
  • Store features (e.g., main pages, analytics, adding web charts, etc.)

Once you’re done making your selections, click “Continue,” and you’ll be able to set your budget range and preferred delivery time.

By the time you get to step 7, you’ll have the opportunity to review your customizations, after which you can click “Done.”

click done

You’ll then receive a list of recommended freelancers who meet all your design criteria, budget, and delivery time.

2. Logo Creation

logo creation

Logo creation is yet another service that you can outsource on Fiverr.

And, as with website creation, the platform has made it extremely easy to get a high-quality logo created in no time.

You can either search for freelancers to design your logo or use the Fiverr Logo Maker, totally DIY, meaning no wait time or tedious back-and-forth communication with freelancers.

You’ll be able to easily design and customize your logo to your liking even with no prior experience.

Simply input your details, including:

  • Industry
  • Preferred elements
  • Brand-name
  • The slogan, etc.

You can also choose the tone of your logo (serious/fun, innovative/traditional, casual/professional, etc.). When you’re done, the logo maker will present you with some designs for you to choose from.

If any of them interest you, you can purchase and download it as it is or customize it further by clicking on the “Customize This Design” button.

3. Specialized Services

specialized services

Another way to use Fiverr is for expertise and highly specific skill sets

Fiverr Pro is a program that features high-quality services from vetted freelancers. For this reason, Pro Verified gigs are usually more expensive compared to regular gigs.

However, they are still competitively priced compared to other financing platforms.

These days, it’s becoming more and more important for businesses to find ways to differentiate themselves online.

One of the best ways is to provide unique content, products, or services. Working with more experienced, specialized freelancers makes it more likely to achieve this.

They know what they’re doing, which is why they are at the top of their field.

The platform helps you easily connect with exceptional and talented freelancers by offering the Fiverr Pro service.

This gets rid of the trial and error method of Fiverr outsourcing. Instead, by purchasing a Pro gig, you can be sure that you’re getting exceptional services from freelancers who were vetted by Fiverr’s team.

Pro gigs are easy to find while browsing the platform. They are typically labeled with a badge that says “Pro-Verified.” You can also find the Pro gigs on the dedicated Fiverr Pro page.

4. Email Marketing or Social Media Marketing

email marketing or social media marketing

With some of the simpler one-off tasks like copywriting, image design, video editing, etc., you’re better off paying for gigs as you go.

However, with services like content marketing, email campaigns, social media management, web development, branding, content distribution, LinkedIn outreach, etc., it’s good to focus on building relationships to get a consistent quality of work from qualified freelance professionals.

These jobs require commitments if you want to see quality results, and Fiverr helps you achieve this by offering features like Fiverr Studios.

Fiverr Studios is a platform where Fiverr sellers with different skills come together under one gig and scale your online business to even greater heights.

In essence, outsourcing is similar to a regular gig except that instead of one person or multiple people, you know, get a team to work on your specific project. The individual in charge (called the Studio Lead) is the one that creates the gig and coordinates the client’s project.

Fiverr Studios can help you save time by managing your projects through one lead.

Also, you can get bulk work done quickly. You do not have to join Facebook groups to find someone to help you in your marketing or projects. For instance, if you needed to get 100 articles translated from French to English, you’d be able to use a single team rather than deal with dozens of freelancers individually.

Alternatively, if you had one project requiring different gigs, you would still deal with one lead.

For example, you wouldn’t have to hire a copywriter to write your email copy and then proofread it. Instead, a graphic designer to design the layout for your email campaign and yet another to upload and automate email delivery, and so on.

You can solve this problem easily with a Studio gig.

5. eCommerce Management Services

eCommerce management services

eCommerce management services are very popular on Fiverr. But rather than searching for individual freelancers and managing them on a different platform, you can do it all on Fiverr with Fiverr Business.

The platform created this collaboration program to connect you and your team with the platform’s best freelancers to avoid time-consuming tasks and facilitate easier communication, budgeting, and timely deliveries.

The platform makes it easy for your team to brainstorm directly with freelancers on any project and collaborate on similar services you need. In addition, they can save and share information and save all the freelancers you prefer to work with on future projects.

You get all your ongoing updates in one place, which is very convenient, particularly for businesses with larger teams.

Additional Gigs to Outsource on Fiverr:

6. Content Development and Revisions: Looking for someone to help you write content or edit your content for, let’s say, blog posts or sales pages making sure it’s error-free? There are plenty of providers on Fiverr to help.

7. Graphic Design (especially if the contractor has access to expensive graphic design software): Use Fiverr if you need a graphic designer to help you make your website look more professional or create your logo design. There are plenty of freelancers looking to help.

8. Site Audit: Not sure if your search engine optimization is as good as it should be? An SEO site audit from a reputable professional is likely to help get you back on the right track.

9. Video Editor: Have a YouTube channel or need help creating a new video to advertise your goods or services? Use Fiverr to find hundreds of video editors ready to help. You can also delegate the task of script writing for your youtube channel and be hands-free to focus on other tasks.

10. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Services: Not getting enough traffic from search engines? Let the eager SEO experts on Fiverr help you reach your target market and SEO rank. One word of caution, though, be VERY careful with who you choose and if you go with any link-building services, pay extra attention to their quality.

11. Branding and Related Services: Looking to establish your brand as a professional player in your respective industry? Hire a brand expert or a digital marketer available on this great platform who can help you build something respectable, memorable, and professional.

12. Dropshipping Services: You can hire organizations to help you with dropshipping. Though Amazon’s drop shipping services may be a better route for larger e-commerce businesses, either way, it will help you scale your online business.

13. Virtual Assistance: In 2015, I hired a virtual assistant to help me with several random tasks, i.e., data entry or data compilation, and it’s been one of the absolute best decisions I’ve ever made for my business. If you’re too busy and need someone to help, I highly recommend you do it too.

Things to Know Before You Outsource on Fiverr

In this section of my guide on how to outsource on Fiverr, I’ll guide you through some of the things you need to learn before beginning your foray into Fiverr outsourcing.

Outsourcing on Fiverr will undoubtedly help you reach new heights in your business. However, there are a few things to remember to help you identify good gigs. The most important thing to consider is that the platform is called “Fiverr,” not “Fiver.” I can’t tell you how often I’ve read articles where Fiverr is spelled incorrectly.

In addition to making sure you’re using the correct name, you must also first understand these important things:

1. Not Everything Should Be Outsourced on Fiverr

Fiverr lets business owners hire freelancers for almost every type and size project. But, that’s not to say that you should outsource everything

The Fiverr platform is a fantastic option for some of your business tasks, but it’s not a solution for everything.

Fiverr is great for one-off projects that can be completed quickly, such as:

  • Content writing
  • Voiceover work
  • Data entry
  • Logo design or other simple graphic design work
  • Simple transcription services

… and so on.

But, it’s not ideal for longer, more complex projects like consulting, book writing, data collection, affiliate marketing, or other extensive digital marketing tasks.

It might be a good idea to avoid anything ongoing that involves consultative or core business functions.

These jobs are often best done by trusted contractors or hiring freelancers referred to you by your colleagues and acquaintances.

If you must work with Fiverr freelancers to outsource a continuous, regular flow of part-time or full-time work, it’s good to build a relationship with one freelancer for quality work.

By establishing a good rapport with freelancers that you can use again and again, you’ll be able to get the most out of the platform.

establishing a good rapport

2. Communicate Your Expectations Clearly

When communicating with a Fiverr seller, make sure that you state your expectations clearly and thoroughly check their Fiverr Profile.

If you want your projects to yield great results, you can be clear and communicative with the people who will do the work for you.

Don’t put the responsibility on the seller. You are the buyer of the services, so take the time to set explicit expectations and the job description, communicating these to your freelancer in a professional way.

This includes things such as:

  • Succinctly explaining the project at the start
  • Checking in at various points along the way
  • Giving helpful feedback upon project completion

On Fiverr, when outsourcing contractors, they want you to be satisfied with their performance. They need to get good ratings from you, but for them to be able to deliver quality work, they must have a very clear idea of what you want.

So, it’s a lot better for you to over-communicate than to leave important things unsaid. But, on the other hand, by being direct, explicit, and detailed, you can better ensure that your rankings and that of the trusted contractors will remain high.

Ensure you are instructional and descriptive about each of your projects, so the freelancer knows exactly what you expect.

The more details you can provide about the service or deliverable before the start of the project, the better results you will get.

3. Use Fiverr for Expertise and Highly Specific Skill Sets

Fiverr is also a great resource if you need highly specialized skills to complete your project.

You’ll find some of the best talents on the platform with in-depth knowledge of everything from graphics work and voiceovers to research, data compilation, and analysis.

For the most part, it’s a lot less expensive to find this type of talent on the platform. But, you must be careful and take the time to ensure that you find skilled people at what they do instead of part-time freelancers trying to trick businesses into hiring them as experts even though they have mediocre skills delivering low-quality gigs.

4. You Get What You Pay For on Fiverr

As the name implies, Fiverr offered five-dollar deals on different types of gigs, including freelance design, creative work, writing a blog post, etc.

The website was initially built on the promise of delivering a service at an affordable price, but that has changed over the years. Now, the platform has both cheap and expensive services, depending on what you need in your business.

These days, some gigs cost a lot more than you would pay your company’s existing team members. That’s why it’s important to be aware of the price points for different sellers.

As shown below, freelancers offer the same service at significantly different prices.

When finding Fiverr gigs, take the time to explore the services offered by different freelancers and compare that to their level of expertise and experience to make sure that you are getting your money’s worth when hiring freelancers on Fiverr. Beginners may charge less, but you may not get the best results.

You will occasionally still find gigs priced at $5, and some of these freelancers are great. However, if a gig is priced at $5 and sounds too good to be true, it probably is. In cases like this, Fiverr handles customer complaints to resolve issues.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll then discover that you’re getting far less than what was advertised upfront.

5. Maintain Professionalism At All Times

As a buyer of services on Fiverr, you must maintain a professional front at all times. When you use Fiverr, you will be outsourcing your work to a wide range of freelancers, and if you want your work to be taken seriously, it’s up to you to maintain professionalism in all your dealings.

When communicating with a Fiverr seller, keep in mind that everything you say and does reflects your business values. The more professional you are, the more likely it is that you’ll be able to motivate freelancers to provide you with their absolute best work.

How to Find the Right Freelancers on Fiverr: A Step-by-Step Guide

On Fiverr, freelance services are traded between buyers and sellers. You can browse all the services (also known as gigs) by category and purchase them directly.

This flawless ordering system and ease of use make Fiverr so popular with busy individuals.

There is no need for any back and forth conversations between you and the seller, and you can get your tests done quickly and on time.

All you have to do is simply search for the service you want, and a list of gigs will be displayed on the results page.

Browse through them to find the service that addresses your needs perfectly and place an order.

Listed below are the steps to take to find gigs on Fiverr:

Step #1: Choose a Seller

Your first step is to identify the best gigs and qualified sellers in the diverse gig economy who will be able to deliver great results.

Conduct a search for the type of gig you want using the search box at the top of the page:

choose a seller

You will then be presented with a results page with a list of sellers who match your search query.

results page

You can now filter the search results in several ways, including:

  • Categories: For the “full website creation” search example, categories include WordPress, Website Builders, CMS, Web Programming, Website Design, etc.
categories

Other filters include:

  • Service Options
  • Seller Details
  • Budget
  • Delivery Time

Once you’ve found a seller you like, start by checking the following:

Ratings and Reviews:

After each delivery, a buyer can leave a star rating and a written review to share their level of satisfaction with the service on the seller’s Fiverr account.

You can simply look at the volume of reviews, narrowing your list down to the most qualified applicants. If the majority are positive, it’s a fair indication that the freelancer is a reliable service provider. In addition, some freelancers get a top-rated seller badge, meaning they have proven to be efficient and dependable.

Complete Jobs:

Ideally, you want to choose a freelancer with many gigs done. This might be one-off projects or long-term gigs, as this tells you that the person knows what they’re doing and has probably had great project management skills.

Furthermore, they are efficient enough to get things done consistently and complete projects to the satisfaction of the people that hired them.

Response Time:

Finally, you must also look at the response time. The average response time of most efficient freelancers is between 1 and 4 hours.

Choose a seller with a short response time, especially if your project calls for constant communication with the freelancer.

Step #2: Choose Fiverr Gigs

Read through the many gigs descriptions to ensure what they’re offering is what you need.

You’ll find the gig description once you click on a particular gig:

choose Fiverr gigs

After checking out the standard gigs that sellers offer on the platform, if there’s nothing that meets your needs, then you can ask for a custom order.

If you don’t have a particular freelancer in mind, or if you can’t find the exact gig for the tasks you need to complete, you can use the form shown below to post a gig request to the seller community that anyone can respond to.

post a request to the seller community

Step #3: Place an Order

Once you’ve found the right seller for the perfect gig, your next step is to place the order.

place an order

After making the payment, you must take the time to fill in all the order requirements. Often, buyers attempt to skip filling out the information, but this can negatively affect your results.

Whether or not you choose to start a dialogue with the seller, this part will be important for providing them with all the information they need in an easy way for them to reference as they work to complete your order.

Make sure to include any resources they will need to complete the project. This includes ideas, examples, etc. For instance, you might reference one of your competitors to know the type of work, style, quality, etc., that you are looking for. Also, take time to understand the competitive pricing on Fiverr alternatives so that you are sure you make the best decision.

Providing as much information as possible while placing your order gives the seller a baseline of what you expect in the final delivery.

Step #4: Contact the Seller

This step isn’t compulsory, but it’s always a good idea to contact the seller after placing the order to confirm the order and allow them to ask any questions they might have about the project.

Encourage them to ask as many questions on the job descriptions as they need to so they understand the scope of your project

Keep the lines of communication open throughout the length of the gig, and make sure sellers aren’t hesitant to ask pertinent questions for fear of annoying you.

Remember:

  • Always take the time to read through the descriptions so you can compare different gigs and find the absolute best offers to address your needs.
  • Ensure the service description includes all the things you need to be covered. Then, if you’re in doubt, you can send a quick message to the seller.

Putting in the time before making your choice will save you the hassle of giving the job to an individual who isn’t best suited to take care of your needs and will ultimately cost you more time and money when stuff has to be redone, thereby decreasing efficiency and lowering your overall productivity.

Outsourcing Work on Fiverr Q&A

What is Fiverr?

Fiverr is a freelance marketplace where businesses, marketers, and individuals can find freelancers to complete various tasks such as writing, web design, graphic design, voiceover services, etc.

How Does Fiverr Work?

Fiverr works by allowing buyers to pay in advance for services offered by Fiverr sellers. Then, once the work is completed to the buyer’s satisfaction, the freelancer will receive payments for the completed project.

What is a Source File on Fiverr?

A source file on Fiverr is a high-quality, editable version of a file that a freelancer makes for you. For example, source files can be editable software files, such as PDF, Adobe Illustrator (AI), PSD, DOCX, Corel Draw (CDR), etc.

Source files are normally attached to gigs for an additional cost. So, for instance, if you are purchasing a logo, you might get a file in JPG or PNG format for $5. Alternatively, you might pay extra for the source file, which is highly editable and easy to resize.

Or, if you buy a gig for a legal document, you might receive it in PDF form that’s locked for changes. However, the source file might be a DOCX that allows you to edit.

How to Cancel Fiverr Seller and Low-Quality Gigs?

You can cancel an order on Fiverr by clicking on the small blue box located at the top right-hand side of the order page. This will take you to the platform’s Resolution Center, where you can choose the button labeled “Ask the Seller to Cancel.”

How Much Are Fiverr Sellers Charged?

Fiverr sellers have to pay 20% of their order’s earnings to the platform. Fiverr also takes 20% from the sellers’ tips, as well. In addition, there are fees for transferring money from Fiverr to PayPal or your bank account. To learn more about the costs associated with using Fiverr, you can visit their Payment Terms and Conditions here.

Is Fiverr Really the Best Freelance Marketplace?

The truth is that Fiverr is not the only online freelance marketplace, and while it is a great place for outsourcing work quickly and easily, the fees can be a drawback. Other freelancing platforms like UpWork also charge fees, but they get progressively smaller the longer you work with a client.

While Fiverr takes 20% of all earnings from the contractor, UpWork takes 20% for the first $500 earned. After a client makes $500, that amount drops to 10%. After $10,000 is accumulated from a single contract, that amount drops to 5%.

On Fiverr, the contractor loses 20% of their revenue for every project created. This can be a real drawback because potential customers who use Fiverr to make a living wage are likely to charge you more to make up for that 20%.

Summary

Learning how to outsource on Fiverr will save on a lot of headache in finding the right freelancer with the skills of efficiency required to complete the job properly and on time.

Unfortunately, many part-time people are moonlighting on their day job, which leads to inconsistent and unreliable everything and might end up costing you more money. It will be wise if all the buyers leave an honest review so that the next buyer knows what to expect.

By paying attention to things such as the gig categories and descriptions, ratings, reviews, and response time, you’ll be able to increase your chances of hiring the best talent for your business.
