Every single day I get thousands of people to this website and the first question they ask is (almost) always the same.
Can you REALLY make a good living by starting a blog and eventually growing it into a full-fledged online business?
Want to know how I know you’re asking this question…? Simple.
In September of 2014, I started taking my own blog seriously and decided it was time to grow it into something big.
It was a tough road, but by the end of 2014, I can proudly report that I had a blog that made me -$1,471.97.
….wait, what?
Yep, my first year I actually lost money (I document it all on my income report page).
The good news though is that I’ve stuck with it and after a staggering amount of failure, especially in my first couple of years, I figured out how to start a successful blog. Not only that, but I also figured out how to make money blogging.
Then after I did it once, I decided to do it again. And again. And again. And again.
Now, I have a media company (just a fancy way of saying a portfolio of websites) worth about $1 million dollars that generates somewhere between $25,000 – $30,000 every single month.
Why am I Different Than the Other “Gurus” Out There?
There are a few things that make me drastically different than other “online business” people out there.
- I work in the trenches: On this website, I tell you how to start and grow your own online businesses, but I give advice from experience. There are plenty of “gurus” who make money online by….telling people how to make money online. This blog is secondary to my media company. What you find here is advice and commentary I’ve established based on the success of my portfolio of websites.
- I am a College Professor: Though my domain name hints at this, yes, I am actually a college professor. In fact, I’m a professor at three different colleges and teach marketing and business courses. The reason why this is important is that I know how to teach people complex concepts and theories in a simple way.
- I’m Painfully Transparent: Most gurus don’t want to tell you when their business takes a big revenue hit or they’re facing difficult problems. They want to make online business appear easy so they can sell you a course. Me? The exact opposite. I always disclose the good (and bad) things about blogging and online business because I want people to have realistic expectations.
If you want to keep learning more about me, you can click right here.
But I don’t think you’re really here to learn about me.
You’re here to do something MUCH more important, which is to start a blog and take steps to create your own online business.
And here’s the good news. I really want to help you!
And now you’re probably thinking, “But Ron, if your business is so successful, why would you want to teach me how to be successful too?”
It’s cheesy….not gonna lie….but here it is.
By trade, I’m a professor and every single website I own is focused on one core principle, creating a resource for a community of people who need help with a problem.
In other words, I genuinely want to help people.
I don’t know why, it’s just how I’m wired.
Every time I get an email from someone telling me that I helped them quit their job, it makes me want to do it even more.
The goal of my website is, and always has been, to change people’s lives by teaching them how to create and grow online businesses so that they can quit their job and have what we all crave; financial stability and freedom.
How Do I Get Started?
The way I see it, there are two things you need to do to get started.
First, you need to take action and purchase (*GASP*) hosting and a domain name for your own website. Don’t worry, it’ll cost you less than $50 for an entire year. For those that are intimidated by this, I created this guide that explains exactly what you need to do step-by-step.
Second, you need to learn how to actually make your website idea become a reality. And good news, I have a free course to help you do just that.
Thank You
To close this out, I want to say thank you for visiting and I really hope that this website helps you achieve your goals.
I also want to let you know that if you need something, I’m here as an expert and as a friend to help you. If you have to talk to me about something that is a little more personal, feel free to contact me by replying to one of my emails after you’ve subscribed to my free course.
